WHERE DO I FIND A MAP?

MAPS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE PROGRAMME ($5), WHICH IS AVAILABLE FROM 1ST AUGUST AT ALL REPCO STORES OR FROM http://www.ferrit.co.nz and online in the spectators section as soon as they are published.

WHAT IS A GOLD PASS?

A Gold Pass is your ticket to the entire event, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Stages both rural and Mystery Creek Super Special.                                                                                                                                   Cost $95

WHAT IS A DAY PASS?

There is a Day Pass available at $20 for each day of the Rally, ie Friday, Saturday and Sunday.   This pass gives you access to all of the stages on that day except Mystery Creek.

WHAT IS A MYSTERY CREEK PASS?

A Mystery Creek Pass is available for each day of the event.

ARE CHILDREN FREE?

YES children under the age of 15 have free entry to Rally New Zealand and Mystery Creek Events Centre.

WHAT IS SHAKEDOWN?

Shakedown takes place at Mystery Creek Events Centre on Thursday 28 August.  It is the only time that competitors get to test their rally cars and ensure setup is complete before racing begins on Friday.     Here you will see the teams up close as they prep the vehicles and test run on a gravel stage at Mystery Creek.   Excellent Viewing guaranteed!

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE "MEET THE DRIVERS" and CEREMONIAL START?  

Come to Hood Street in Hamilton on Thu 28 Aug from 4:30pm - 9.30pm and meet the WRC Driver Lineup, get their autograph, see the Rally Girls. Stick around for the Ceremonial Start with all the dignitaries and VIP's, watch the cars as the officially start the event by crossing the Start Ramp 6.30pm - 8pm. 

Note cars cross ramp in reverse order. The WRC stars will be last over the ramp.                      FREE

WHAT IS MYSTERY CREEK SUPER SPECIAL ABOUT?

The Mystery Creek Super Special is a stage specially designed for spectators which  runs each day; where the cars compete on a 3.14km gravel stage within Mystery Creek.     Spectator areas are provided to ensure you get the best view and experience these international superstars racing around at high speed.      

Mystery Creek is ideal for FIRST TIME rally fans.

WHAT ELSE HAPPENS AT MYSTERY CREEK ON EVENT?

Come and enter the world of WRC 2008.... This traveling international motorsport event visits 15 ‘very' different countries every year... like Monte Carlo, Argentina, Japan, Finland, Greece, France, Mexico... New Zealand and many more.

Mystery Creek is Rally New Zealand Headquarters

The Service Park is located here, which is where all the teams base themselves for servicing during the event.   It's definitely worth the visit to see these professionals servicing these amazing machines in record time.    Learn how to change a transmission in under 5 minutes!

Trade Expo Area... purchase your favourite WRC merchandise and a host of other products from here.

Live Stages on the Big Screens... check out the live feed from the Eye in the Sky Helicopter, showing the rally action as it happens out on stage and is fed from the onboard camera back to Rally HQ and onto the Big Screens with commentary.

Roving Entertainment.... Each day there will be a range of roving crowd entertainment on site.

Rally Girls... our gorgeous Rally Chicks will also be at Mystery Creek and are happy to pose for photos with the fans!!

WHEN CAN I SEE THE CARS BEING SERVICED... (PIT LANE)

The cars are permitted to service at set times each day.    Each car is allowed the set time (ie 30 mins) to service with first car commencing service at time stated below followed by the rest of the field.

CEREMONIAL FINISH

After the thrill of watching the last Mystery Creek Super Special Stage, which in 2007 became a nail-biter for the 0.3 second winning lead that saw Marcus Gronholm win Rally New Zealand, watch from the grandstand as the finishers celebrate on the podium with champayne. Your Mystery Creek Sunday Pass includes access  to the Ceremonial Finish.

HOW MANY CARS WILL COMPETE IN RALLY NEW ZEALAND

This year we are expecting over 70 competitors to enter the event.  

14 x World Rally Championship (WRC) Cars

22 x Production World Rally Championship (PWRC)

20 x New Zealand Rally Championship Cars (NZRC)

20 x others (both international and national privateers)

WHAT IS A RURAL STAGE?

The Rural Stages are the stages that take place in the regions outside of Mystery Creek... ie Pirongia, Waitomo, Franklin, Te Akau and Raglan.

WHERE DO I GO ON STAGE?

Rural Stages... To ensure the safety of our spectators and the best view, Rally NZ has designated Prime Spectator Areas.   Please refer to the Spectator Map in the Programme and on the website.    These areas are fully marshalled, please adhere to instructions from the marshalls.  At the Prime Spectator sites, running commentary of the rally will be run over a PA with toilet facilities and food outlets available.

Mystery Creek...  Spectator Areas will be clearly identified within the property, marshalled and barriered for your safety.

WHERE DO I PARK?

Rural Stages.... Parking is provided in paddocks (where available) and roads in close proximity to the Stage Spectator Areas.    In some areas there may be a cost associated to parking in paddocks.  

Mystery Creek... Spectator Parking is available - please follow the road signs.

ARE DOGS PERMITTED ON EVENT?

No sorry dogs are not allowed on event.
