Latvala wins in Wales; Loeb takes eighth WRC title

The Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team crew of Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila has claimed their first victory of the 2011 FIA World Rally Championship season by winning Wales Rally GB, the final round of the series.

Hayden Paddon has made the most of the opportunities for further tarmac rally experience in Spain, saying “the whole experience of tarmac driving and learning has been hugely successful” and reminding the rally community of his unquestionable pace, which has improved rally by rally all season.

Loeb wins WRC Spain; narrow lead over Hirvonen

The battle for the coveted FIA World Rally Championship title continues into the final round of the series after Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena clinched victory in Rally de España and archrivals Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen finished second overall.

Ogier wins WRC France; Hirvonen & Loeb tied for championship lead

After a thrilling two-way fight to the finish, the Citroën Total World Rally Team crew of Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia clinched victory on their home round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Rallye de France. The Frenchmen finished just 6.3 seconds ahead of the MINI WRC Team crew of Dani Sordo and Carlos Del Barrio.

WRC Calendar for 2012 confirmed

The calendar for the FIA World Rally Championship has been confirmed at a meeting of the FIA's World Motor Sport Council in Singapore on 23 September.  It features 13 events starting with a return to the legendary Rallye Monte-Carlo in January, which will be running for an 80th time next season, and finishing with Rally de Espana on the Costa Daurada south of Barcelona in early November.
